Pressure sensitive adhesive is short for pressure sensitive adhesive, is a kind of adhesive which is sensitive to pressure. According to main resin the pressure sensitive adhesive could be divided into rubber type and resin type. Rubber type could be divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber, resin type mainly includes polyacrylate, silicone and polyurethane. According to the dispersion medium, adhesive could be divided into water - based and solvent - based pressure sensitive adhesive. Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive is a reaction with water as the medium, coated after drying. Because water-based pressure sensitive adhesive uses water as solvent, so the price is low, and the production rate is fast, but its adhesion performance is not high. Solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesive uses toluene, ethyl acetate or other organic solvents as reaction media. In the finished product of solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesive, the organic solvent accounts for 60%-75% of the total weight, and the adhesive accounts for 25-40% of the total weight.
Solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesive technology is mature, has excellent pressure sensitivity and cohesiveness, and because of aging resistance, light resistance, water resistance, oil resistance and other advantages, there is almost no time change caused by the decline of pressure sensitivity, and it has good stripping performance. At present, the use of solvent-based pressure sensitive adhesive is gradually reduced due to environmental problems. The reason is: due to the solvent pressure sensitive adhesive in the coating process, it needs to evaporate a large number of organic solvents, so the main problems are: 1. The processing time of pressure sensitive rubber products is long; 2. Evaporated solvent to has damage to the body of operator; 3. Insufficient evaporation of the solvent itself will also cause waste; In the heating process there is also harm to the coated substrate.
